Officer Commanding Devon & Somerset Wing recently visited 290 Squadron to conduct an Annual Formal Inspection of The Unit.  During his visit the Wing Commander took time out to speak to all of the Cadets on parade. He also made a number of formal presentations to Squadron Staff and Cadets.
The Wing Warrant Officer was also present at the event.  However, some of the Staff and all of the Cadets were not sure in what capacity the WO was attending, as he appeared to be the only uniformed member of staff not wearing medals, as was the order of dress for the inspection visit!

 

 

For his community service and duties as Mayor’s Cadet, FS Cameron Service was awarded the Wing Commanding Officer’s Certificate of Commendation.

 

 

 

WO Phil Sturges was awarded a bar to the Cadet Forces Medal

 

 

 

OC 290 Sqn, Flt Lt Steve Manville, received the Sir Alan Lees Trophy, for Achievement and Efficiency, on behalf of the Sqn.

 

 

 

To conclude proceedings Rev. Kenneth Brown enrolled six new Cadets into the Corps.
