LONG SERVICE AWARD FOR EXMOUTH SQUADRON’S COMMANDING OFFICER
Squadron Leader Richard Bagnall, Officer Commanding 299 (Exmouth) Squadron and Projects Officer for Devon & Somerset Wing of the Air Training Corps has been presented with a third clasp to the Cadet Forces Medal (CFM).
The Cadet Forces Medal is awarded to recognise long and efficient service by commissioned officers and non-commissioned adult instructors of the UK cadet forces.
The CFM is awarded after twelve years of service and a clasp is awarded for every six years of service completed thereafter. The clasp is worn on the medal.
The presentation was carried out by Wing Commander John Parsons, the Commanding Officer of Devon & Somerset Wing during a recent parade night at Exmouth Squadron.
Richard became a an Adult Warrant Officer on completion of his time as a cadet. He was later commissioned in 1995 and completed initial officer training.
Squadron Leader Bagnall is not just a busy squadron commander, he is also a qualified range officer, mountain leader and mountain bike instructor. Richard also organises battle field trips for cadets to visit the D Day Beaches of Normandy.
