Congratulations to newly promoted Warrant Officer Claire Banwell of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets!

Claire is an adult volunteer member of staff with 41F (Taunton) Squadron. As well as being the Deputy Wing First Aid Training Officer she is also a mental health awareness instructor.

Having joined the Air Cadets as a teenager in 1997 Claire has had a busy and varied time with the organisation including visiting Canada as part of the International Air Cadet Exchange and attending camps at RAF stations in the UK. She has also flown solo in a glider.

As an adult member of staff, Claire


was the first qualified female Drill Instructor within Devon & Somerset Wing of the Air Cadets.

Recently promoted to Warrant Officer, Claire is now also responsible for the new intake training programme at 41F (Taunton) Squadron.

Squadron Leader Dave Rolfe of Devon and Somerset Wing said. “We have many exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunities for our adult volunteers and would be very pleased to hear from those who may be interested in joining a squadron near to them.”
